Topic: Synchronization in Buchenwald: A Metaphysical Conference on Meaning, Wisdom, and Human Destiny
This 19th virtual LogoChat will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 12:00 PM US Central Time.
Logochats will be held the first Saturday every other month. Times may vary in order to allow individuals to join from different time zones. In order to attend, you must create an account and register for the “Logochat.” That will allow you to receive a zoom invite. Logochats are free and open to all interested individuals. Logochats are not approved for Continuing Education.
Dr. Eglee Gimon will lead this upcoming Logo Chat. She will reflect on Dr. Viktor Frankl’s play Synchronization in Buchenwald, which is, in essence, an imaginative encounter between the main character, Franz, and some of history’s greatest philosophers—Socrates, Kant, and Spinoza—within the setting of Buchenwald. Dr. Eglee explains that through this fictional yet philosophically grounded dialogue, we can examine how wisdom transcends time, how suffering can become a source of meaning, and how vocation emerges through responsibility to life.
Beyond its philosophical themes, the play explores the spiritual and metaphysical dimensions of human existence, inviting reflection on whether profound encounters—synchronizations between persons, ideas, and historical moments—may reveal a deeper order that transcends ordinary experience. It alludes strongly to the noetic dimension of the person and to the possibility that conscience, inspiration, and seemingly meaningful coincidences may point toward a reality in which human beings participate in a larger tapestry of meaning.
This 19th virtual gathering will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 12:00 PM US Central Time.
